Microfold Ltd. is a specialist communications company, providing services for both SMEs and blue chip companies.”

Cécile Marchant
Director

With a degree in languages and computational linguistics, Cécile worked for a variety of national, international and blue chip companies, establishing herself as a recognised expert in her field of technical authorship.

In 1995 she founded Microfold Ltd and secured several longer-term contracts with Barclays, ICI and some larger Cheshire SMEs, assisting them with essential technical and general documents.

In 2000, Cécile attended Business Link’s Women As Entrepreneurs course. “Although the course required me to take almost 3 months out of the business, it had a pivotal effect on the company. The course was so useful in opening up opportunities and showing me the value of networking as well as pointing me firmly in the direction that I wanted to take the company. I really wanted to start working more closely with SMEs and helping new businesses with their communications.

My vision for the company has now arrived - in the shape of our MQubed services: I really feel that we have something special to offer the smaller company with a limited budget – without them having to compromise on the scale of their ideas.”

To date, Cécile has virtually 20 years’ professional editing and writing behind her and someday soon hopes to write the screenplay that lurks in the background!

To that end she has started working on short films (she’s created five to date) and you can view the results at www.microcinema.biz.

Kevin has a degree in Chemical Physics and nearly 25 years’ expertise in the IT field, latterly working as a senior manager for a global, blue chip company.

“You get to a certain age and you decide it’s time for a change – so when the opportunity came up to establish the MQubed side of Microfold, I jumped at the chance.

It’s quite interesting that the processes for the Multimedia side of Microfold are so similar to the processes Cécile has developed over the years for her document structuring. What it comes down to is promoting the message as effectively as possible, irrespective of the delivery medium.

In a very short time we’ve attracted interest from several influential local companies, which just proves we’re on to a winner!”

Kevin has had a passion for video production for many years and over the past 12 months has been helping Cécile with her short film projects, creating two DVDs for the “Healthy Ageing” project which was a collaboration with the NHS and Warrington Borough Council.
